Les Henson Limited Edition Giclée Prints
'Fly Homeward' - Clipper ship under full sail, her black hull
slicing through the swells From an original acrylic painting Limited
Edition of 650 Price £45.00 (Postage and packing FREE) Note : We only
deliver within the UK.
Created
in the 1840's by American ship builders, the 'Clipper Ships' as they were
called, became the fastest and most beautiful wooden sailing ships ever
seen.
Built for speed of delivery on the tea trade run from New York to
China, they proved highly profitable.
Soon longer, leaner and faster
Clippers were being built to meet this expanding trade, and fast they were,
reaching speeds in gale force winds exceeding 21 knots.
Britian soon
followed with versions of their own which included the 'Cutty Sark' launched in
1869.
My painting is of no particular ship, simply my attempt to capture
the power and beauty of a Clipper in full flight running for
home.
Printed on A2 Size paper. Approx Size of image 19"x13" 48cm
x 33cm
Note : Since it's not possible to accurately depict the colour of
the print on the internet the actual colours may be slightly
different.
